THE THREE GRACES

This August, Corey Helford Gallery in Downtown Los Angeles presents a powerful intersection of myth, femininity, and narrative art with The Three Graces, a trio of mini solo shows from rising stars Allison Reimold, Dewi Plass, and Kelsey Beckett. Opening on Saturday, August 30th, and on view through October 4th, 2025, this much-anticipated exhibition in Gallery 2 reimagines the classical muses of beauty, joy, and charm through a deeply modern and introspective lens.

Far from classical pastiche, each artist delivers her own potent vision of what it means to be woman, muse, and maker today. Together, their works form a hauntingly beautiful triptych—each voice distinct, yet collectively harmonious.

Allison Reimold — The Blue Hour

Between Shadow and Flame

Los Angeles native Allison Reimold captures the fleeting moment between day and night in The Blue Hour, her newest series of oil portraits that blend myth, memory, and the metaphysical. Known for her cinematic illustration work by day, Reimold steps fully into the realm of fine art here, painting women suspended in liminal states—between light and shadow, dream and awakening.

Rendered in deep jewel tones and rich chiaroscuro, works like “St. Elmo's Fire” and “The Ember Gaze” feel both ancient and immediate. Figures seem caught mid-transcendence, their gazes steady yet distant, as if aware of a world beyond our perception. These are modern muses cloaked in myth, inviting viewers into realms that flicker just beyond the veil.

Dewi Plass — On the Bright Side

Surreal Escapes and Soft Revolutions

Self-taught Dutch artist Dewi Plass conjures a vibrant sanctuary where imagination becomes resistance. With her background in cultural anthropology and a deep reverence for the animal world, Plass paints dreamlike worlds where foxes, birds, and flora become metaphors for inner strength and joyful defiance.

Her new collection On the Bright Side is a reminder that hope itself is a radical act. In pieces like “Against All Odds” and “The Healer (The Art of Letting Go)”, Plass invites viewers to release rigidity and embrace the endless possibilities within. Each canvas radiates a quiet, defiant optimism—soft but unshakeable, like nature reclaiming a city sidewalk.

Kelsey Beckett — Sharp Edges

Armor as Art, Femininity as Warning

If Reimold captures the moment before transformation and Plass paints the dream after, then Kelsey Beckett delivers the battle in between. Her new body of work Sharp Edges explores aposematism—the natural world’s visual warning systems—and reimagines it through a feminine lens.

In pieces like “Hostile Architecture” and “See You Next Tuesday”, Beckett’s women are radiant and untouchable. Adorned in metaphorical armor inspired by thorns, halos, and the haunting design of toxic landscapes, these figures dare the viewer to look closer—then think twice. They are reminders that softness and danger are not mutually exclusive, and that power, when cloaked in beauty, can be its own defense.

The Three Graces will debut Saturday, August 30th from 7PM–11PM at CHG’s Gallery 2, running concurrently with Martin Wittfooth’s solo show Deus ex Terra in the Main Gallery and the Hidden Gems from the Studio II group show in Gallery 3.

Expect a full evening of art, energy, and community. Open to the public and always free, this is an essential stop for anyone passionate about contemporary art, new feminist narratives, and visual storytelling that lingers long after the lights fade.
